Art with de Spullenmannen
De Spullenmannen is an artists' collective in Amersfoort. We mainly create performing arts and interactive installations. We connect art and science because they revolve around the same curiosity. Science revolves around the question of how the world is, our art around how the world could be.
We haven't updated the agenda for a while, but most projects can be found under “work”.
The amazing ship Serendiep
Serendiep is an inland barge that we have converted into a theatre, workshop and labyrinth. There, we continue to work on what was once called the Knopjesmuseum. A labyrinth full of interactive installations that make a complex scientific model playable.
With Serendiep, we organise festivals, sail around with performances and also perform our own Science Fiction Puppet Show on board (science fiction, but not kids' puppetry).
Solo art
I'm very bad at documenting things, so this may take a while... After searching through old backup hard drives and other people's websites, I will probably give some examples of my biological art with fungi and amoebae, video art and writing.
Festival Kaalstaart
Every year, together with a number of other artists, I organise Festival Kaalstaart, a festival for beta art. Art that uses and contributes to science and technology.
In April, we will once again visit four cities with three inland barges full of art and science!
